It’s been awhile since I blogged. Life doesn’t slow down even when you’re barely hanging on by a thread. But, it’s a new month – my favorite month besides April – so it’s time I start writing again.
Summer has officially come and gone. If you’re anything like me, summer is the bane of my existence. Seriously, I could write a 3,000-word essay listing off reasons as to why I hate summer. But alas, that is for another time.
And if you don’t live under a rock, you’ve heard that today is October 1 and fall has arrived…or at least it somewhat feels fall-ish today in OKC.
With fall comes a whole bunch of wonderful things. So, without further ado, I give you…
1. Fall candles.
Yes, we knew it was coming. But, lets be real. When you walk into your room and get a whiff of cinnamon pumpkin spice – how can you NOT love fall candles?
2. More gas in your gas tank and usually lower gas prices.
As my high school science teacher once explained in class, “molecules are like people. When you’re hot, you want to be far away from one another. But when you’re cold, you want to be very close.” Therefore, more gas in your gas tank because the molecules are getting closer together as the seasons turns colder. Also, the gas prices tend to rise when summer roles around. Thanks, families who go on family vacation.
3.The sun setting earlier.
It’s true; I actually like the dark more than I like sunlight.
4. Sweaters, boots and scarfs.
More layers the better.
5. Fall means the holidays are near.
The holidays bring a certain kind of joy to everyone. The holidays usually bring people together and that makes me happy.
6. Holiday parties
Who doesn’t enjoy a good hang sesh?
TOUCHDOWN! Football brings tailgating, cooler weather and the perfect reason to talk smack to your loved ones.
Yes, I’m that girl. I firmly believe that leggings can be pants. And I wear my leggings almost daily in the fall and winter seasons.
9. Fall pastries.
Pumpkin muffins with Cream Cheese Icing? I’ll take 25.
10. Fall décor.
Come on Y’all! The copper, yellow, orange and red tones everywhere? I mean, it can’t get much prettier than that.
11. Changing leaves.
I went to college in Tennessee, and let me tell you, there is nothing more breath-taking than driving through the Great Smokey Mountains. The winding turns and bright colored leaves will make any hard heart turn soft.
12. Fall leads to winter. Winter leads to colder weather and snow.
